SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (Hybrid)

• Work closely with project managers, mechanical, system, test, and manufacturing engineers on a variety of products, including coolant control hubs, vacuum pumps, and actuators.
• Design and develop injection-molded and sheet metal components like manifolds, covers, and brackets using CATIA V5.
• Engage with multiple suppliers to review their tool designs, and mold flow simulations. You’ll field their questions, make. decisions, analyze their change requests, and support them through production.
• Support a variety of OEM’s and work with them on vehicle packaging, mechanical requirements, and change requests.
• Create or change drawings, perform tolerance stacks, and process engineering changes.
• Advise and assist less experienced mechanical engineers (as needed).

• Four-year college degree in mechanical engineering (or similar).
• 7+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer.
• Deep understanding and experience designing plastic-injection molded and sheet metal components. If you haven’t designed injection-molded parts, this position is not for you.
• Strong CAD background is a must - CATIA V5 is preferred.
• Supporting creation of and maintaining DFMEAs.
• An understanding of basic GD&T, and can apply it on drawings.
• Experience running CFD simulations in ANSYS is desired, but not required.
• Some travel to support projects and/or customers (< 10% per year).
