Senior Financial Analyst Job at Chemung Canal Trust Com
Performs a variety of critical functions and duties in support of internal controls over financial reporting and the collection and filing of regulatory, management and SEC reports. . Supports compliance with all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory guidance. Collects, verifies and files required data for SEC reporting and related footnotes and disclosures. Provides research and support on complex accounting issues and respective GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements. Develops policies and procedures in support of the finance function and related SOX internal controls. Produces and provides financial analysis and related financial statements in support of business lines, divisions and subsidiaries such as the Wealth Management division, CFS, Chemung Risk Management, the Real Estate Investment Trust as necessary.
- Balances holding company, bank and REIT General Ledger and reviews for unusual changes or errors.
- Maintains chart of accounts and cost center structure in support of regulatory, SEC, and management reporting.
- Works closely with Controller in support of SOX Internal Controls related to the finance function.
- Prepares regulatory reports in accordance with related instructions.
- Assists with the Collection of required data, prepares schedules and footnotes for completion of 10Q, 10K, earnings and other filings and releases.
- Assist in the development of the Annual Budget and Business Plan.
- Assists in the review and analysis of all company incentive and benefits plans for GAAP compliance and financial impact.
- Develops, Analyzes and reports on key performance drivers and related peer metrics.
- Coordinates monthly budget analysis and functional business unit reviews.
- Assists with various internal departmental or functional profitability reports.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BS in accounting
- Minimum 4 years combined experience in Public Accounting and Financial Services
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication, and computer skills
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial institution accounting.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- High level analytical skills and experience
- Strong attention to detail.
- Certified Public Accountant – Preferred
- MBA - Preferred
- SEC experience - Preferred
