Job Duties:
- The Application Developer II serves as a software developer for various or multiple systems inside the area of Economic Services (ES) system applications. Responsibilities include design/planning, technical specifications, documentation, coding, modification/enhancements, testing and implementation of systems. Troubleshoot production problems related to supported software applications. Consult with management, business analysts and end users to identify application requirements.
Serves as a software developer and analyst for Economic Services systems, applications, and IT solutions. Consults with ES staff, system users and stakeholders to gather information about business needs. Actively participates in ES system project and team meetings to provide input for user defined specifications. Produces analysis and feasibility studies in the form of written documentation and reports and recommends solutions for identified needs based on Agency standards and industry best practices.
Troubleshoots application issues/production issues and maintains already installed systems. Produces and maintains documentation and testing.
In consultation with the technical manager, designs, coordinates, and monitors ES systems' projects and progress with programmers, analysts and users. Creates documentation that will be used to schedule, assign, and implement the requests.
Identifies and addresses recurring problems and assists in the development and execution of business process best practices for ES Systems.
Writes and maintains programs as required and ensures all modifications including coding, analysis, testing, debugging, and documentation adheres to specifications declared by the statement of work.
Ensures the ES Systems' team adheres to Agency development standards and best practices for documentation, code development and deployment, providing peer review and assistance to developers on staff, and ensuring developers understand and follow proper procedures.
Will be required to perform Red Cross shelter/emergency response duties as directed.
Agency Requirements:
A High School Diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software.
An Associate's Degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
