Sunrise Company, a developer of master-planned golf-course communities, has an immediate opening for a full-time Security Officer to work swing shift from 1:30 pm to 10 pm and graveyard shift from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am at Toscana Country Club, a private premier golf community located in Indian Wells, Ca. Qualified candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills. Other qualifications include hospitality industry experience, computer skills and a California Guard Card. SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Security Officer is the safety and security of the residents of the Country Club, accomplished through the combined efforts of gate personnel performing access control and the roving patrol, together with monitoring perimeter security systems. Secondarily, security should be available to assist guests and homeowners in whatever way that is reasonably possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain safe and secure environment for homeowners, guests and employees by monitoring surveillance equipment and access points; permitting entry and reporting alerts to patrol.
• Answer incoming calls, update homeowner and club member visitors’ logs.
• Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques and setting building and equipment controls.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Control physical access to the premises and facilitate the movement of traffic through the various gates in the most efficient and courteous manner possible.
• Maintain a highly visible patrol presence, at all times during each respective shift, in order to aid in the prevention of unlawful activity, and illegal entry into the community and residences.
• Maintain and update a Daily Activity Report Log by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures. Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures.
• Make periodic checks on all perimeter alarm systems to insure that they are in good working order. When needed, generate a written work order on any faulty sections of the system.
• Coordinate with supervisor, notification to the Sheriff's Department regarding vehicle accidents; property damage; trespasses; prowlers; malicious mischief; and any criminal incident wherein a suspect may be on property or there is a reasonable expectation that evidence can be collected.
• Maintain radio contact with other security officers.
• Main frequent checks with patrol officer to insure that alerts are functioning and.to obtain help by alert patrol officer when necessary and, if needed, law enforcement.
• If assigned to construction gate, inspect vehicles at the construction entrance when specifically requested to do so by Sunrise Company supervision or when Security Department has probable cause to believe that the person’s vehicle contains stolen property or other evidence of a rule violation. Inspections are conducted by looking into vehicles and inside of trunks or truck beds. The security officer may never touch the person or handle their property.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, security or a closely related field. Law enforcement and /or military experience is desired.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid California motor vehicle driver’s license
• American Heart Association Adult and Child CPR/AED certification
• Private Security Guard license with the State of California.
