The on-site or in-field supervisor shall assure the guard(s):
A. Are in uniform and present a neat appearance.

B. Maintain continued liaison with the COR or designated alternate.

C. Conduct site inspections of all posts to ensure compliance with rules and regulations. In making the required supervisory inspection, the contractor shall determine at a minimum that the guards are in full uniform when carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the contract. The inspection shall ensure that the overall appearance and demeanor of the guard promulgates professionalism, not only during the actual inspection but also throughout the assigned shift. The contractor shall ensure that all observation results are kept in a guard log.

D. When inspecting the guard employee, the supervisor shall ensure that:

a. A current copy of the regulations and instructions pertaining to the guard post and guard orders are immediately available at each position of duty.

b. Each guard has studied the orders and regulations and is thoroughly familiar with them.

c. Each guard must always comply with the orders and regulations.

E. Provide post breaks during their scheduled tour.

F. Conduct quarterly training of all contract security guards and alarm monitors through the guidance of the VA Police Training Officer and Physical Security Section. Training includes but is not limited to post policies and alarm monitor training.

G. Shall manage central alarm monitoring and the performance of the alarm monitors.

H. Shall make sure their subordinates are following all VA policies and regulations.

I. Conduct on-spot corrective training for subordinates.

J. Shall ensure paperwork is filed and disposed of in accordance with policy and regulations.

K. Conduct a VA police-approved guard/alarm monitor orientation on individual conduct and responsibility for contract personnel before duty assignments. Each employee's initial orientation will be documented and signed by the employee and supervisor. A copy shall be forwarded to the COR.

L. Shall make sure alarm monitors and guards are up to date with all training (VA and Weapon/NCIC)

M. The contractor supervisor shall personally contact the COR during the first week of every month to review and discuss matters of mutual concern. Contact may be in person or by telephone.
