The Team:

The Mattel Connected Products Platform (MCPP) in the Mattel Global Technology Organization (GTO) delivers value to our customers through connected play products and services. The Software Engineering Teams that support this group are solely responsible to develop Products/Platforms and support them. The group is seeking a Scrum Master and Jr. Software Release Train Engineer to assist in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) activities for Mixed Play services. The focus of our organization is to develop AI/ML, Gaming, and Connectivity services for toys & baby gear as well as for the wider Web3 ecosystem. This team will develop new software products integrating with the global connectivity data platform and different functional systems of the Mattel Connected Products Platform: Consumer Experience, Communication Data Hub, Big Data Analytics Engine, Web3 ecosystem, and a Subscription Management System.

What Your Impact Will Be:

• Organizes and leads team scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, Backlog Grooming, etc.)
• Guides and coaches the Scrum Team on use of Scaled Agile practices and principles
• Fosters a high performing team level by recognizing areas of strength, improvement and employing coaching and development.
• Coaches the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicates effectively, both internally and externally.
• Works with Scrum Team, Release Train, and internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision-making and supports organizational project or product teams.
• Resolves team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Agile in the organization.
• Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization.
• Supports the Sr. Release Train Engineer (RTE) in execution of Scaled Agile methodology across the organization.
• Helps to plan and execute Scaled Agile ceremonies and processes (PI Planning, System Demo, Inspect & Adapt, ART Sync, etc.)
• Communicate with stakeholders the status of current and future Telematics initiatives.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives through optimization of processes and best practices.
• Facilitate meetings and document outcomes.
• Actively work with technology engineers and methodology experts to analyze business needs to document business and system requirements
• Coordinate testing efforts and validate software release changes.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Detailed knowledge of the technical constraints and dependencies of Daimler Truck Software Engineering systems
• Strong knowledge of software development processes (e.g., Agile, DevOps, Scrum)
• Understanding of Software Engineering processes and lifecycle
• Experience on Agile Development Processes and Tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
• Experience preparing and delivering presentations to groups.
• Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience leading and mentoring others in identifying and solving root cause of complex problems.

• Scaled Agile (SAFe) training/certification

• Well rounded experience as a Scrum master with focus on technologies such as embedded software development, 3rd party integration, or telematics solutions

• Experience in AI/ML, IOT, & Web3 technologies & architecture

• Experience working in DevOps or DevSecOps Teams

• Google, Amazon, & Azure Cloud experience

• Big Data Systems experience (e.g., Google Big Query, Metabase, Azure Data Explorer

• Experience in working with diverse and cross functional teams
