Position Description:
Scheduler
We are looking for a skilled, visionary scheduler that is well experienced in using an SIOP process and can implement planned changes to our scheduling system and enhance our scheduling process. Challenges will be to manage schedule adherence, and improve manufacturing processes to reduce lead time in order to reduce inventory.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage the SIOP process, the MRP and MPS system to balance supply and demand within available capacity
Create and maintain schedules to deliver in line with programs requirements while maintaining inventory targets and optimizing capacity
Schedule production for specified products and production lines understanding all the physical and manning constraints
Ensure that MPS is feasible and balanced against resource / demonstrated capacity
Proactively communicate/escalate to operations and management team potential MPS issues/constraints to trigger preventative actions in order to mitigate supply failure risk
Support operations in monitoring manufacturing output/performance against the schedule/plan, challenging and understanding whenever performance differs from standard
Support program management in analyzing inventory levels in order to optimize/challenge current status and search for improvement opportunities
Provide communication/feedback to programs in case of any potential supply issues and also in order to improve forecast accuracy
Ensure relevant KPIs and metrics are monitored and PDCA/A3 approach applied in case of deviation to ensure targets are delivered in a sustainable way
Ensure master data is up to date for all planning and scheduling purposes
Maintain MRP system data integrity, specific to work order due dates, engineering masters and part maintenance.
Develop detailed production status reports for key programs for internal staff as well as external customers.
Develop dispatch, priority lists and maintain recovery schedules for programs that are late or at-risk (includes reviewing rejection tags to apply towards recovery scheduling).
Physically status parts through the production process to ensure on-time delivery.
Create and update relevant reports as required.
Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have a 2 or 4-year college degree in business administration, or equivalent experience, with at least 3 years scheduling and SIOP experience in a manufacturing environment. Supply Chain Experience a Plus. APICS/ASCM Certifications a Plus. Lean Manufacturing Certification a Plus. Must have an eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to communicate effectively. Must also have a good understanding of lean concepts and be an MRP and Excel wizard to be successful in this role.
