SUMMARY
SAP VC/Data Programmer is responsible for analyzing, correcting, creating, and changing critical master data, for creation and management of BOM structure and object dependencies, for establishment of pricing based on region and other characteristics, and for Engineering Release (ER) activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Continuous improvement of quality of data in SAP.
- Continuous improvement of Variant Configuration quality.
- Implement improvements in VC design at Haas.
- Publish Processes, Procedures, and Standards to add or change Variant Configuration objects.
- Debug a wide area of the system including; materials, BOM items, configurable BOM’s, front end clamping, routings, assignments, and testing methods.
- Accuracy of machine variant configurations and the Master Schedule.
- Insures that master data driving all business processes integrate with no conflict into a single company-wide business system.
- Assist in establishing the ongoing strategy for Variant Configuration throughout the company. Implement the Token structure for existing and new materials. Analyze, correct, create and change Characteristics, Configuration Profiles, Object Dependencies and all duties associated with Classification for the global Haas enterprise.
- The VC team is responsible for processing high level ERs, defining manufacturing planning and deciding how the company will market and sell its products. Before the VC team starts any programming, they will create a PDF (Product definition form) and have it signed off by the “Director of Sales” or “General Manager” or the “President”. Once the PDF is approved, the VC team will start the physical programming (including the use of tokens).
- The VC team is responsible for defining the BOM structure, the planning process and the method that we will sell and market our products to our customers. They will publish the BOM structure and get a sign off from the Engineering Department.
- The VC team also participates in the maintenance of the Master Schedule, creating and configuring new variants, modifying and validating existing variants, and ensuring the master schedule conforms with management directives.
- Provide user support and troubleshoot issues with configuration management software. Monitor configuration management processes. Create and maintain documentation for tools used to support configuration management.
- Establish and Maintain quality of data in SAP.
- Monitor/maintain data integration with BI/BW Reporting system.
- Establish and Maintain quality of VC objects in SAP.
- Monitor/maintain integration with Dealer Portal.
- Monitor/maintain other applications and systems as assigned.
- Publish a BOM structure for each frame.
- Create OD and selections rules for all BOM’s.
- Attach the rules to BOM’s.
- Creation and maintenance of machine variant configurations.
- Maintenance of the Master Schedule.
- Create materials and maintain the critical fields in material master.
- Create BPP’s for users.
Minimum Qualifications
- This position requires knowledge of multiple business areas including manufacturing, distribution, sales, customer service, engineering, finance/accounting, HR, and our dealer portal.
- Responsibilities encompass the entire SAP ERP system, which requires an in-depth understanding of the SAP modules, their cross-functional effects, and the master data which connects them.
- Broad knowledge of SAP configuration is required.
- Strong understanding of business processes utilized in worldwide in support of the Order to Cash, Plan to Produce, and Purchase to Pay Processes. .
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA in Systems and Operations Management, Business Management, Material/Logistics Management, Industrial Technology, Economics or Mathematics is required, from a four-year college or university, plus an additional 3+ years related experience.
