The Safety & Security Team Member will provide a safe and secure environment, while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere at Vineyard Columbus' owned and operated spaces. You will serve as the principal liaison for an assigned location for all safety and security issues.

This person will embody Vineyard Columbus’ vision and values, while helping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment. You will be able to intervene and manage disruptive or disorderly conduct and serve as the point of contact for any safety and/or security issues.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Security:

• Assure the security of all persons occupying Vineyard Columbus owned or operated spaces
• Assure the security, and protection of Vineyard Columbus property and environment including buildings, grounds, equipment, and other assets of Vineyard Columbus
• Respond to emergency situations or conditions and provide assistance or take actions appropriate to the crisis situation within legal limits of the department's authority and state & local laws

Safety:

• Help maintain smooth operations of facilities
• Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked; sound alarm in case of fire
• Monitor alarm system and video cameras. Serve as point-of-contact for staff regarding security/safety issues

• 
  Proactively assist in directing visitors, volunteers, and staff to relevant activities.
• Interact with volunteer ministry teams
• Provide information, directions and assistance to visitors (both in person and by telephone). Field phone calls from public, as necessary

Training:

• Recruits, trains and equips volunteers to deliver a high standard of security services
• Maintaining a W.A.R.M. (Welcoming, Affectionate, Responsive, and Mature) atmosphere at the assigned campus location in alignment of Safety & Security Standard Operating Procedures

The ideal candidate will have:

• OPOTA Security or Peace Officer Certification preferred
• Military/Law Enforcement experience preferred
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
• Integrity and professionalism
• High School graduate (two years college preferred)
• Be at least 21 years of age

Hours for this position are:

3-11p.m. two evenings a week & 8-4p or 1-9p or Sundays
