RN Supervisor - Assisted Living Job at Mary T. Inc

The Mary T Family of Companies is seeking a temporary, part-time RN Supervisor to work within our 4 Assisted Living locations.

The RN Supervisor will direct nursing and health care services to ensure safe and appropriate health care is provided to individuals served in Assisted Living. Our Assisted Living locations are smaller and offer more personalized care, ranging in size from 8 to 19 beds, for a total of approximately 51 beds.

This position will require on-site work at our Assisted Living facilities, which are all located in Coon Rapids, MN, within approximately a 1-mile radius. The position will be temporary and part-time, approximately 3 days (24 hours) per week.

This position offers a high hourly wage due to the temporary, part-time nature of the position.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC JOB DUTIES

The RN Supervisor provides support to the needs of the individuals served through:

  • Assigning, managing, supervising, and evaluating the practice of nursing.
  • Conducting performance appraisals and providing constructive feedback for nursing staff
  • Coordinating nursing meetings and training to remain in compliance with regulatory bodies, and policies and procedures from sound nursing practices.
  • Advocating for the number of nursing staff necessary to provide nursing related services
  • Scheduling, time management, and timesheet approval of nursing staff.
  • Maintaining current skills and knowledge through continuing education, professional associations, self-study modules and licensing requirements as they apply to job responsibilities.
  • Accountability for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; addressing situations beyond the nurse's competency; and performing to the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected of an individual who has completed an approved professional nursing education program.

On-call nursing program management; ensuring programs are in place to provide health care safely and appropriately, through delegation and implementation of services

  • Research, design and write implement, evaluate, and direct program policy and procedure relating to on-call nursing services.
  • Manage the on-call schedule and delegate duties to appropriate staff
  • Quality assurance management

Health Care Policy and Procedure Management

  • Research, design, write, coordinate, implement, and direct health care policy and procedure.
  • Quality assurance management
  • Dissemination of policies to all staff

Infection Control and TB Program Management

  • Research, design and write program policy and procedure to comply with regulations.
  • Train, implement, direct others in program needs.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, care coordination,

Lab Director of the CLIA Waiver Program

  • Research, design and write, coordinate, and direct program policy and procedure to comply with regulations.
  • Train, implement, direct, and maintain the program.
  • Quality assurance management

Provision of Training

  • Designing and implementing teaching plans based on patient need and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Providing health promotion, disease prevention, and care coordination.

Placement Screening of Individuals Served

  • Health screenings and recommendations provided for admissions, readmissions, and discharges as appropriate.

Management and Coordination of Special Programs

  • Safe Patient Handling
  • Fall Risk Assessment
  • Medical Equipment Loaning

Developing Integrated Care Plans

  • Providing a comprehensive assessment of the health status of a patient through the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data used to establish a health status baseline and plan of care, and address changes of condition in the individual supported.
  • Collaborating with the health care team and IDT to develop and coordinate an integrated plan of care.
  • Developing nursing interventions to be integrated with the plan of care when needed.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with other healthcare professionals in the management and implementation of care within and across care settings and communities.
  • Advocating for the best interest of the individual

Implementing & Evaluating Interventions

  • Implementing nursing care through the execution of independent nursing interventions.
  • Implementing interventions that are delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed health care provider.
  • Providing safe and effective nursing care delivery.
  • Promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Evaluating responses to interventions and the effectiveness of the plan of care


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of an Associates Degree from an approved nursing program

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

  • Active RN License in good-standing with the State of MN
  • CPR Certificate
  • Valid driver’s license

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years of relevant experience in an Assisted Living setting
