The Retiree Direct Billing Representative manages their customer groups and provides customer service to members and employer groups, which includes but is not limited to: taking member and group contact phone calls in a dedicated queue, updating eligibility in the billing system, preparing and sending monthly reports, as well as responding to emails daily.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime during peak season.
All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide customer service to internal and external customers taking incoming calls in a phone queue
- Manage your own customer groups within the standard business timelines, including processing adds, terms, monthly reports, daily member, and group requests
Work with various types of members correspondence
Adhere to departmental guidelines and processes put in place for these tasks
Become familiar with current policies and procedures and other reference material
Provide feedback and explanation in a positive and professional manner
Work in a team environment while demonstrating individual accountability
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
1+ years of Customer Service experience
- Experience with computer and Windows PC applications
Experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (create, edit and save documents)
Ability to work full-time, Monday - Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of knowledge / experience in member and/or group billing
Intermediate experience of Microsoft Excel (create, edit, sort/filter, create pivot tables)
Telecommuting Requirements:
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Demonstrate effective time management skills to effectively plan, organize, set priorities, meet deadlines and handle multiple work assignments
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize caseload based on business needs as well as ability and willingness to accept and work in a new and changing environment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to produce high quality work while meeting productivity expectations
Proven to be proactive, self- motivated, detailed oriented, and work with minimal supervision or support

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $16.00 - $26.88. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada / New York City residents is $16.83 - $29.66.
