Newton’s Inc. was established in 1924 by Earl & Grace Newton. They opened the doors on September 24, 1924, as an appliance and contracting business. Their daughter Nellie married Albert Long. Albert began working on the contracting side of the business while Grace ran the appliance side. Joe Long (son of Albert & Nellie) opened the True Value side of the business in 1976. Earl, Joe, and Gary Simpson ran the inside portion of the business. Now ran by Joe Long & Megan Menzer, 4th generation business. A local hardware store that has a little bit of everything!
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Maintain a store neat and clean at all times.
- Interact with customers and make recommendations based on their needs.
- Stock merchandise and assist customers with product selection.
- Communicate with customers and vendors by email, telephone, and in person.
- Use POS system and handle money.
- Process credit card payments using a register or a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Work in store and social media events.
- Lift 80lbs +, load and deliver major appliances.
- Cut and thread pipe
- Cut automotive and house keys, and rekey locks
- Mix paint
