Respite Care Provider for 24-Hour/Day Respite
Job Description: To provide a safe, respectful, and caring environment in your home and in the community for a 17-year-old male with autism living in Towanda. Respite care is a service provided due to the need for relief of family members normally providing the care.
Qualifications of a respite care provider:
- The candidate is subject to a driver’s license and criminal background check. Must be at least 18 years of age, maintain a working telephone, possess a valid driver’s license, and provide transportation.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
- Experience working with people with autism
- Experience working with children and/or youth.
- Must demonstrate competency to perform the duties as verified by the family.
- Have the abilities or skills necessary as determined by the participant to meet his needs as outlined in his service plan.
- Have appropriate accommodation in your home to provide the participant with his own bed and privacy.
- Three references are required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour respite care in your home and in the community.
- Provide companionship.
- Involvement with the person’s daily activities.
- Meal preparation.
- Support the individual in activities he enjoys while in your care.
- Provide transportation in the community.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
- After school
- Overnight shift
- Weekend availability
Experience:
- Caregiving: 1 year (Required)
