Sign on bonus: 1st/2nd shift $300 after training, $450 after 90 days

The Resident Aide is responsible for, but not limited to:

Job Summary:
Provides direct care to residents. Assist /provide residents with activities of daily living, laundry, and housekeeping services. Works with the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Wellness Coordinator and Unit Coordinator and Training Supervisors to meet and maintain The Village of Heather Hills rules and regulations and policies and procedures.

Physical Job Requirements:
Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time; bend/stoop; lift/carry/reach over 50 lbs.

Requirements:
Job requires ability to communicate with residents, resident families, co-workers, and supervisors; and assist residents with ADL’s and transfers. Must be able to possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Typical Duties:
All listed job duties are required but not limited to the following. Additional duties may be assigned to the Resident Aide per the managers discretion at anytime.

  • Assist in providing a clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Actively assisting with answering call pendants of residents in a timely manner.
  • See that the rules established by The Village of Heather Hills are followed.
  • Assisting with maintenance of resident and facility records.
  • Assist and participate in fire drills and other required drills, activities and regulations.
  • Implement and document individual resident programs as designed by the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Wellness Coordinator and Unit Coordinator including, but not limited to the following:
    • Resident and facility laundry
    • Housekeeping throughout facility
    • Maintaining resident activities of daily living (toileting, ambulation, transfers, feeding, dressing, bathing, grooming/personal hygiene needs, oral hygiene, nail and hair care, etc) according to the residents individual service plan per the Point of Care charting system.
    • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting of residents into and out of beds, chairs, showers and wheelchairs etc.
    • Maintaining resident hygiene and nutrition
    • Maintaining resident documentation in the Point of Care and Eldermark charting system
    • Maintaining professionalism while communicating with families, residents, co-workers, supervisors, vendors, etc.
    • Cleaning and disinfection of Village Care Shower room after each use.
    • Attend staff meetings/in services and acts as an active participant
    • Making of residents beds daily and ensuring linens are clean and free of stains and odors
    • Removing of all trash from resident apartments and Village Care every shift and as needed when soiled items are placed in them.
    • Actively completing and participating in walking rounds with on-coming staff to ensure resident needs are met, resident apartments and facility is cleaned and maintained and that residents are safe.
    • Documentation of hours, education, training required by state or local regulations
  • Responsible for maintaining supplies for the residents and facility, such as paper towels, hand soap, toilet paper, etc.
  • Keep facility linen closets and resident closets neat and clean with items folded
  • Communicate resident needs to the Medication Technician, i.e. depends, clothes, personal items, toothpaste etc. so they are able to communicate these needs to resident families.
  • Informing Medication Technician of problems/concerns, family contacts, changes in resident condition; physically or mentally or facility problems/concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Wellness Coordinator, Unit Coordinator and Medication Technicians.
