Job Description
Job Summary:
The Compliance Advisor performs a key regulatory compliance function to help ensure corporate initiatives and business processes comply with applicable laws and regulations. This person will effectively collaborate with all areas of the organization to ensure that policies are compliant, and controls are strong. As the subject matter expert, the individual in this position will also review laws and regulations for business impact, conduct risk assessments and identify compliance opportunities across the enterprise. This role will work independently on topics specific to Exeter’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) controls along with providing consultancy/oversight to the cyber security program. This specialized work will require a build out of the oversight then delivery of this additional component to the robust compliance management system.
Job Duties:
Serves as the subject matter expert to strategic partners, to ensure documents, projects, processes or operational initiatives are designed to comply with regulatory and legal requirements and enterprise policy. Synthesizes analyses, identifies root cause(s), and provides recommendations that influence business solutions. Design and implement improvements in communication, monitoring, and enforcement of compliance standards. Advise management and business partners on the implementation and operation of various compliance programs, as well as the applicability of compliance requirements to the company’s products and services and internal processes. Leads the completion of the annual compliance risk assessment and evaluates existing business practices to ensure appropriate controls are in place. Provides clear communication and guidance of pertinent industry news and applicable regulatory changes. Demonstrates awareness of personal leadership style and works to achieve quality results by motivating and inspiring highly skilled team of compliance professionals. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Ten (10) or more years of compliance policy management and regulatory liaison experience is required.
Six (6) or more years of finance experience is required.
Relevant Compliance Certifications, such as a CRCM is preferred. Those candidates who are actively pursuing a certification or already have achieved a relevant certification will be preferred candidates.
Advanced knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of industry (financial services) compliance reviews.
Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements for new and revised business unit compliance policies.
Excellent collaboration, communication and presentation skills and provide a high-level of customer service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work under pressure on multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
