The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of a Reimbursement Specialist (Revenue Integrity Specialist). This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Not for Profit Hospital Corporation (NFPHC), United Medical Center (UMC). Under direction of the Revenue Integrity Manager, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in performing various functions related to the processing of hospital revenue from identification, capture, entry and reconciliation of billing services.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Using knowledge of revenue cycle principles and their role in generation of revenue to ensure accurate and compliant billing
- Reconciling and monitoring charges for assigned departments against source documents
- Monitoring compliance with internal standards and procedures, and using internal protocols to report non-compliance issues to the proper hospital compliance authority
- Identifying, researching, and analyzing billing errors and/or omissions
- Providing training to staff and lower-level Revenue Integrity Specialists
- Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as processing, reconciling, and ensuring the accuracy of revenue and charge activity; and experience working in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of revenue cycle, medical terminology, coding and Meditech software highly desired.
