Registration and Application Specialist Job at Grand Valley State University
Summary
This role will maintain and update the noncredit professional development registration database to ensure user-friendliness and quality data management.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Troubleshoot issues with registrations, payments, and user-facing issues.
- Manage all reporting through the registration system, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
- Maintain historical records, clean up the database.
- Coordinate all registration service operations to include course creation, registrations, payments, and invoicing.
- Provide leadership and support to implement best practices and procedures for maintaining compliance as required by college and state including FERPA regulations.
- Ensure student and sponsor billing, accounting, and registration records are up-to-date and reconciled.
- Process learner requests such as transcripts, certificates, etc.
- Coordinate updates/upgrades.
- Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required
- Associates degree in Computer Information Systems, Business or related field
- 1-3 years of Project Management experience
- 1-3 years of Coding & data entry experience
- Proficiency in Office 365
- Accuracy/attention to detail
- Time management – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Initiative to exercise problem-solving, critical-thinking skills, and follow-up
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate good judgement, tact, and courtesy
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow complex oral and written directions
Preferred
- Bachelor’s preferred in Computer Information Systems, Business or related field
- Previous Records management experience
- Database Management experience (ACEware, Canvas, Modern Campus or similar))
- Website management
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
