The starting salary will be between $38.73 and $44.78 per hour (approzimately $80,558.40 and $93,142.40 annually)

A $5.00/hour temporary add-on will be paid for all hours worked Monday through Friday, and an $8.00 for hours worked Saturday and Sunday in a Nurse Clinician 2 (i.e. Registered Nurse) shift at SWC through June 2023.

SWC is a state operated Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. SWC provides a wide variety of programs and services designed to assist and prepare individuals to live successfully in the setting that best meets their needs. Located in southern Wisconsin in Union Grove, SWC brings together a rich history and state-of-the-art treatment approaches for the new millennium.

Positions available will work a rotating schedule, working every other weekend

  • 0630-1900 AM/PM works every other weekend, total-3 days a week (90%)
  • 0630-2030 AM/PM works every other weekend, total-3 days a week (100%)
  • 1830-0700 PM/NOC works every other weekend, total-2 days a week (60%)
  • 1830-0700 PM/NOC works every other weekend, total-3 days a week (90%)
  • 1830-0830 PM/NOC works every other weekend, total-3 days a week (100%)

Position Summary


This position performs direct patient care for developmentally disabled residents. This position is responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, administering and evaluating individual care for residents.

Salary Information


The starting salary will be between $38.73* and $44.78* per hour (approzimately $80,558.40 and $93,142.40 annually) depending on years of licensure.

  • A $5.00/hour temporary add-on is included in the listed rate for all hours worked Monday through Friday until June 2023.

In addition to standard night and weekend pay differentials, an additional $3.00/hour temporary add-on will be paid for hours worked Saturday and Sunday through June 2023.

  • A $2000 sign-on bonus applies to those with no prior state service in the last five years; must stay with SWC for a minimum of one year to retain the bonus. Bonus will be split, $1000 upon hire and $1000 after one year.
  • Employees who work between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. will receive a night differential of $1.40 per hour worked.
  • Employees who are permanently assigned to night shift will receive an additional $2.50 per hour worked.
  • Employees will receive a weekend differential of $0.60 per hour for all weekend work hours.
  • The pay schedule/range is 11-02. A 12 month probationary period is required.

Job Details

  • All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
  • All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
  • Employees are required to provide documentation of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by their start date. Exceptions will be granted to those who obtain an approved medical or religious accommodation or those who provide documentation requiring a delay in receiving the vaccine.

Qualifications


Minimally qualified candidates will possess:

  • Licensure, or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Knowledge of current general nursing theory, nursing process and nursing standards.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays and occasional overtime or extra hours.

Well-qualified candidates will possess:

  • Experience participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Communicate effectively through oral and written methods.
  • Experience providing effective direction and oversee the work of other members of the nursing team.
  • Experience applying nursing techniques to meet the needs of the specific patient population at SWC.
