REGISTERED NURSES:

1. Provide a full range of clinical nursing services in the ambulatory care setting to meet the physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural needs of the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.

2. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care outcomes and/or services.

3. Obtains chief complaint/reason for visit and relevant health promotion/disease prevention information and documents appropriately in patient’s Electronic Health Record.

4. Measures and assesses vital signs, height, weight, neurological status, visual and hearing acuity, as well as effects of medication.

5. Interviews patients and family members, reviews patient’s medical records; assesses and documents nursing action and follows through with a plan of care and/or refers patients to other healthcare providers. Initiates arrangements for follow‐up care.

6. Participates in pre‐visit planning for scheduled patients. Communicates the patient needs and recommended treatment to the patient’s healthcare team.

7. Carries out physician/provider orders, which may include administering medication, oxygen and a variety of other therapeutic treatments according to medical and nursing policies and procedures.

8. Operates medical equipment such as suction machines, electrocardiograph machines, fetal monitors, pulse oximeters and respiratory equipment.

9. Recognizes life‐threatening emergencies, initiates and maintains resuscitation measures and other emergency procedures as appropriate to the situation.

10. Collects or assists in collection of specimens, i.e. sputum, urine, stool, etc.

11. On occasion, determines appropriate blood tube and venous access to draw blood for laboratory.

12. Prepares patients/exam rooms for specialty clinics; obtains supplies and medications as needed.

13. Assists primary care provider with medical procedures, such as colposcopy, pelvic exams, cast/splint application, biopsy and suturing.

14. Provides formal or informal health education to patients on a one‐to‐one basis and/or groups; assists the patient in complying with a medical regimen prescribed by the health care provider.

15. Collaborates with physician and other health care providers, e.g. social workers, psychologists, etc. to provide health care and improve the quality of life, to prevent disease, and to promote physical and mental health.

16. Participates in nursing quality control checks, i.e. point of care testing (POCT).

17. Participates in staff meetings, in‐service education programs, and quality improvement studies/activities to enhance the overall delivery of patient care.

18. Applies current nursing concepts and findings from research and/or studies to practice.

19. Provides charge nurse/team lead duties as needed by preparing room assignments and providing guidance and leadership to nursing personnel of various skill levels.

20. On occasion, performs telephone triage during regular business hours.

Certifications:

21. Possesses a current, active, full and unrestricted license or registration as a RN from the United States, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States.

22. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Work Schedule:

Contractor will work 40 hour weeks, no weekends, no overtime, no holidays, no call back schedule. Typical hours of operation are Monday thru Friday from 8am to 430 pm, except for Zia health clinic is open Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri from 700am to 530 pm and evening clinic at AIHC on Wed from 1230pm‐900pm. A 30‐minute lunch break is permitted.
