Job Accountabilities

CROWN’s Regional Logistics Planner (RLP) ensures that optimal transportation services and support are provided to the plants and warehouses. Regional territories are based in the U.S. & Canada, associated with the existing Crown plant locations.



Job responsibilities will be split between two core logistics functions:



Transportation Planning (75%):
  • Ownership of transportation planning for Crown’s two Texas plants and associated warehouses
  • Develops relationships with internal/external stakeholders including (plants, carriers, vendors)
  • Negotiates rates and holds carriers accountable for contractual commitment follow through
  • Plans loads in the E2Open TMS, maintains routing guides, generates and analyzes reporting
  • Communicates with stakeholders ranging from daily calls to quarterly business reviews
  • Ensures that cost and service goals are met, ability to work and make decisions autonomously
  • Performance manages carriers using system tools and issues corrective action for improvement
  • Sources new carrier capacity, qualifies carriers and on-boards them into Crown’s network
  • Partners with others on Logistics Team to backup and support each other and the network
Distribution/Reverse Logistics Planning (25%)
  • Coordinates transportation outbound from Crown Sorting Centers
  • Plans secondary packaging returns back from craft customers and distributors
  • Arranges secondary packaging returns to/from our competitors
  • Miscellaneous ERP system maintenance including: new lane setup, freight terms changes

The RLP is a role that has strong upward potential to develop into a Regional Logistics Manager (RLM).
Position is to be based within the Crown Corporate Logistics Team in Crown’s Yardley, PA office.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience, preferred supporting manufacturing in just-in-time environment
  • Travel up to 1 week per month to plant locations across US/Canada
  • Experience with E2Open TMS is a plus
  • Individual should possess a sense of urgency, be a self-starter, proactive decision making
  • Ability to multi-task and possessing agility to react to a dynamic environment
  • Candidate shall have good communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment, open communication, trust, candor
  • Thorough understanding of analytical tools, such as, Microsoft Excel
