THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Talent Recruiter with a diverse set of experiences to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, build transformative relationships, and eliminate educational inequities to advance social justice

To put it simply, you will play a pivotal role in connecting the best talent with opportunities to ensure that all campus-based positions are filled by the first day of school.

THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:


Meet target teacher application numbers
for your caseload

  • Leverage creative sourcing strategies and research practices, such as job boards, networks, internal referrals, and social media tools to identify high caliber candidates aligned to the mission of YES Prep;
  • Represent YES Prep at virtual and in-person career fairs and other events to attract large groups of talent to apply;
  • Leverage social media and other mechanisms for communication to attract and engage prospects;
  • Manage recruitment at target university campuses and through other strategic partnerships to increase the overall candidate pool for projected openings aligned to YES Prep values;
  • Participate in at least 3 virtual or in-person recruitment events per month;
  • Facilitate at least 15 one-on-one meetings per month with strong prospective candidates


Ensur
e that 100% of the instructional staff for your caseload will be hired and approved to start by the first day of school

  • Screen job applications and/or video interviews quickly with an eye for detail to identify mission aligned, qualified, and passionately motivated employees;
  • Aggressively monitor applicant pools for each vacancy and ensure that there are at least 3 quality candidates for every vacancy;
  • Review applications, video interviews, conduct phone interviews, etc. within 1 week of a candidate’s application.
  • Develop clear systems and procedures for data tracking, assess progress toward goals, and make changes to ensure all goals are met

Recruit three directly cultivated teacher applicants for every high needs vacancy, such as but not limited to, bilingual elementary, Secondary English, Secondary Math, Secondary Science, Special Education, and Spanish

  • Track and monitor all prospects in the candidate relationship management and applicant tracking systems;
  • Attend and host recruitment events;
  • Create meaningful partnerships with external organizations to increase applicants in high needs positions;
  • Collaborate with Home Office leads to plan information sessions and support with sourcing strategies

Retaine 95% of newly hired teachers beyond the 90th day on staff

  • Understand the unique needs of the campuses you serve and identify three qualified candidates per vacancy;
  • Attend virtual and/or in-person check-ins with new teacher hires to encourage persistence beyond 90 days

THE MUST HAVES
  • Belief in the mission and vision of YES Prep
  • Passion for connecting people with opportunities across a multitude of platforms
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in recruitment, development, grassroots organizing, outreach, teaching, or equivalent role
  • Ability to travel to other cities or states to recruit on behalf of YES Prep
  • Ability to work urgently either independently or with a group in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment

THE PERKS
  • CompensationThis position is an exempt, salaried position; salary offers commensurate with experience.

  • Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.

  • Retirement Plans
    – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457(b) Retirement Plan.

  • Paid Time Off – Employees working 20+ hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
Please note, part-time hourly employees (working fewer than 40 hours/week) do not receive pay during system closures. Additionally, 10- and 11-month hourly employees do not receive pay during the months in which they are not working.
