Primary duties of this position will be to assist with the administration of services in Ransom and Sargent counties and to assist cooks with meal preparation and site operations. In addition, this person will act as a sub cook for other locations throughout Ransom and Sargent counties. This position will work primarily at the Valley Senior Service office in Lisbon.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

Meal Sites:

• Assist cook and/or serve meals including cleanup and paperwork.
• Act as fill in substitute cook as needed
• Clean meal preparation and serving areas according to health standards, follow a monthly, weekly, and daily cleaning schedule on kitchen equipment. Deliver commodities to remote clients as needed
• Deliver information, meals, frozen meals or other supplies to sites as needed
• Assist with registration for congregate and home delivered meals
• Assist with daily receipting of meal program income and prepare deposit
• Performs related duties as assigned or apparent

Transportation:

• Answer incoming transportation calls and schedule appropriately
• Assist in distribution of VSS printed materials
• Assist in accurate record keeping of all rides and money
• Performs related duties as assigned or apparent

Office:

• Greet persons entering office in a friendly manner and direct to appropriate staff
• Answer phone calls and direct calls with a courteous and professional manner
• Provide clerical and administrative support as necessary and needed
• Assist with monthly reports as needed
• Periodically check the lending program and send out late notices if needed
• Performs related duties as assigned or apparent

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position may also be based on performance of the following other functions, which include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating frozen meals on wheels delivery
• Assisting cook with kitchen duties
• Distribution of Home Delivered Meal donation notices.
• Charting and depositing of meal donations
• Coordinating pickup and delivery of adaptive equipment
• Delivery of commodity food and food baskets
• Delivery of Meals on Wheels
• Coordinate volunteers for the Home Delivered Meal Program

Required Experience:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Prior work experience in a restaurant/food service setting is desirable along with previous experience working with computers. The ability and the desire to work with senior citizens are required.
