R&D Mechatronics Engineer

· We are in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, 30 minutes from top restaurants, music and shows in downtown Seattle. Snoqualmie ski area is 30 minutes from our office, and the top cross-country skiing, hiking and mountain biking trails in the state are just a few miles away (Preston, NW Timber, Iverson, Raging River, Tiger Mountain, Grand Ridge, Duthie, Olallie, Rattlesnake Lake Rec Area, Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail, Iron Horse State Park, Mount Si).

· This role is a full-time, direct hire, long-term position.

Responsibilities

· Work within our multi-disciplinary team to define, sell, design, build, test, and deliver new robotic guidance products across the project lifecycle.

· Engineering and Product Development to innovate, design and implement innovative solutions.

· Identification of and solving a broad range of problems using an analytical approach.

· Generation of test reports and proactively communicating status of testing efforts.

· Tearing down, debugging, and analyzing integrated systems, (robotics preferred).

· Develop clear and concise product specifications/documentation and solutions to meet product requirements.

· Creating and performing Design of Experiments (DOE) to develop a first principles understanding of key variables.

· Reviewing and interpreting test results providing feedback on product improvement solutions.

· Delivering clear, meaningful, and repeatable test results.

· Researching new technologies with constant learning of what would be possible for use tomorrow.

· Implementation and finalization of new ideas with out-of-the-box engineering solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

· 2-5 years of industry experience required

· Understanding of core robotics concepts.

· Knowledge of electronics (analog/digital) and test equipment knowledge helpful.

· Knowledge of MATLAB and robot simulation tools to prove algorithm concepts outside of physical samples.

· Solid analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and relentless drive to identify potential problems and take responsibility for their resolution.

· Familiar with electromechanical assemblies: motors, sensors, PCBA’s, buttons, etc.

· Hands-on experience with machine shop equipment.

· Fabrication skill, hand tools, ability to prototype quickly.

· Able to manipulate C/C++ programming for microcontroller based electronic controllers to support design and validation efforts.

· The ability to work as individual contributor on multiple projects of varying size, scope, and complexity.

· Passion for Robotics a plus!

Minimum Qualifications

· BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar disciplines.

· Authorized to work for any employer in the United States

· Located within 45 minutes of our office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
