Quality Inspector

This position is responsible for full inspection of machined parts; first piece inspection, in process inspection, and final inspection using standard inspection equipment, mics, bore gages, height gages, and CMM.

Full Time Position - Hourly

Hourly pay rate – Based on Experience

Job Duties Include:

  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Maintains calibration of gages and ensures up to date.
Requirements:


Basic Qualifications Required

Analyzing Information , Reporting Research Results, Documentation Skills, Promoting Process Improvement, Safety Management, Managing Processes, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Supports Innovation, CAD, Quality Engineering, Operational Research

Ideal Qualifications Preferred

Workable understanding of the following:

Screw Machine and rotary transfer (Hydromat) & CNC production manufacturing

Production Broaching and Secondary Machining Operations

Tooling and Fixturing

Basic machining knowledge (turning, drilling, milling, grinding, knurling, etc.)

Database programs (DataEase, Access)

High level of competence in the following:

  • Blueprint interpretation/comprehension (GD&T)
  • Statistical Process Control / X & R charts / X & S charts
  • Spreadsheet programs (Excel)
  • Word processing programs (Word Perfect, Word)
  • Statistical Process Control Analysis
  • SPC Software and Aqua Software
  • Gage/Measurement knowledge, analysis, calibration, and capability (micrometer, comparator, etc.)
  • Gage management system
  • PPAP AIAG requirements/AIAG manuals
  • Basic understanding of problem solving
