Position Summary:

The Quality Coordinator responsibilities include routine inspections on materials, processes, and products, ensuring compliance with new and existing quality standards and regulations, and contributing to the development of company policies and procedures. This position fulfills documentation and reporting requirements for the Quality Management program, and provides
Laboratory support by completing chemical/physical tests on ingredients, manufactured fractions, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality specs to meet food safety standards through Chemistry and Microbiology Techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Follow all FSSC 22000 guidelines, Food Safety policies, and procedures provided by FSMS as applicable to the position.
• Adhere to all cGMP and safety requirements.
• Test and analyze raw material, intermediates, and finished products by qualitative and quantitative methods against quality standards
• Log samples and test results into database and LIMS
• Fulfill quality or regulatory information and document requests.
• Dispose of hazardous waste according to environmental regulations and
• company/departmental procedures
• Assist in plant self-inspections and audits to support Food Safety & Quality Systems.
• Coordinate Quality System Document Management program activities including collection of documents for certifications.
• File laboratory records following Good Manufacturing Practices and as directed through applicable SOPs.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
• Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
• Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
• A solid foundation in the physical sciences.

• Good analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of citrus oil and fruit essence samples.

Required Training:

Completion of all training modules as defined in the HR Database.

Experience and Education:

• College degree or equivalent experience relevant to position.
• Proven work experience as a Quality Coordinator, Quality Assurance, or a similar role in the

Production Department

• Knowledge of document management systems.
• Effective interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills; attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and use of time management.
• Efficient and quick execution of tasks.
• Knowledge of Life Sciences (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices) regulatory requirements preferred.
• Experience hosting and conducting audits a plus.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Exposure to production and or warehouse departments; handling of certain hazardous chemicals; use of PPE as required. Position requires ability to reach overheard, bend at the knees to file, grasp, push/pull, climb stairs and lift 25lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
