QA Inspector

Our client, a global leader in engineering solutions and industrial products, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA Inspector to join our team at their Morton Grove, IL facility. As a QA Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that their products meet the highest quality standards before they reach their customers. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to quality will contribute to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and functional testing of products using various inspection tools, equipment, and testing methods.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of inspection results, test reports, and non-conformance issues using computer-based systems or other designated formats.
  • Identify and report any non-conformance, defects, or deviations from specifications, and work closely with the quality team and relevant departments to address and resolve any issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to provide input and support in process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems and industry regulations.
  • Assist in the investigation and root cause analysis of quality issues, and contribute to the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure continuous improvement in quality inspection processes.
  • Experience with PC-DMIS and Calypso software for dimensional measurement and inspection is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in operating and programming coordinate measuring machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS or Calypso software.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or relevant vocational training is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a QA Inspector or in a similar quality control role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality inspection techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in using measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate inspection results.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Office applications and quality management software.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize PC-DMIS or Calypso software to create and execute inspection programs for dimensional measurement of products.
  • Perform CMM inspections using PC-DMIS or Calypso software, interpreting measurement data and generating comprehensive reports.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and optimize inspection programs in PC-DMIS or Calypso software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any software-related issues that may arise during the inspection process.
