Job Title: Quality Assistant

Site: Millville Vial

Shift: Monday – Friday 2:30pm – 11pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Rate: 17.50

Reports to: Quality Manager

Summary Description:

Responsibilities vary according to the requirements and needs of the Quality Assurance Department. Basic responsibilities include assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in all areas including assembling job packets, batch labels, organize job set-ups, generate labels, conducts laboratory tests as required. and any other duties which may be assigned. Responsible for issuing quality assurance paperwork in accordance with applicable procedures and policies.

Job Duties: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Conducting all Lab work required including EP/HR tests, pH Rise, or any other required tests. Maintain proper lab paperwork and database entries. Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Lab. Maintain filing, faxing, copying, packaging, and shipping for the Quality Office. Record quality data in proper databases.

2. Conduct job preparation: Check production schedule and compile shop floor papers, issue for distribution, prepare sample paperwork and issue to floor, print and stamp article drawings to issue with shop floor papers, print labels for jobs and make sure labels are put away in cabinet, check label inventory daily for current and upcoming jobs, check and issue screens, check and issue attribute gauges, check and issue templates, and issue job tray to cabinet for production.

3. Package and send out samples when requested, assist in maintaining inventory of sample room vials and replenish from plants when needed. Maintain logbook and keep samples stocked and organized.

4. Maintain gauge drawers in sample room and records for gauges issued.

5. Responsible for maintaining calibration system including, serializing gauges and equipment, recording calibration information, recalling, and calibrating gauges and equipment, posting calibration results, maintaining Master Calibration Log database

6. Relabel ware, reinspect ware, conduct incoming audits and misc. Q.A. functions when required.

7. Conduct special Q.A. audits when required. Authority to accept or reject ware based on quality requirements for each job.

8. Conduct training on calibration system and lab testing when required.

9. Conduct all batch file reviews and checklist at end of job. Review files for any changes needed to be put on a Material Master Request. File quality paperwork and permanent batch file records when job is completed. Maintain Material Master Request changes to during production. Submit all changes needed on the Material Master Request form from batch review of file.

10. Print, record and track all required labels for production use in accordance with quality documentation. Complete all label reconciliation forms for all labels. Responsible for placing proper labels in locked cabinet, making labels available for production personnel prior to the job start.

11. Assist in repair and purchase of inspection tooling and gauges.

12. Must be knowledgeable of the duties of the inspector packers and auditors. Responsible for obtaining knowledge of the duties of the inspector packers and auditors.

13. Issue BTB solution and water (assist with mix), maintain lot control of labels.

14. Mix Sulfur packets and water, maintain sulfur log.

15. Attend and participate in daily production review meeting.

16. Record quality data in proper databases (i.e., reject/pieces lost, reject, and pulled ware, etc.

17. Travel to local customers for Quality issues (i.e., inspection of material)

18. Communicate and promote teamwork with all personnel

19. Follow safety, health and environmental rules, company rules, regulations and ISO procedures and work instructions.

Requirements: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION : High school diploma or (GED) or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE: ISO 9000 experience preferred

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of calibration and certified in EP testing; Ability to read engineering prints and documents as required.

BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE: Quality systems knowledge, understanding of manufacturing processes and customer requirements.

SKILLS COMPENTCIES: The ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must be able to read and interpret written documents when required. Average math skills are required. Computer skills and SAP knowledge a plus.
