Summary:

Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a highly qualified Quality and Patient Safety Senior Video Production Specialist to provide professional services and support to the Office for Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The QPS provides top-level messaging, that resonates with its primary stakeholders, informs the public, and further promotes the VHA Under Secretary’s top priorities. QPS anticipates reaching numerous internal and external audiences including Veterans, clinicians, the healthcare and medical communities, professional associations, as well as media, general public, and Congress. The QPS seeks communications support to: develop essential content; build and sustain internal and external communications platforms and channels; support the Assistant Under Secretary of Health for Quality and Patient Safety (AUSHQPS) executive communications function and, work collaboratively and creatively with QPS leadership on emerging messaging and initiatives.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing the work of support staff and ensuring program scripts meet intentions and requirements expressed by management.
• Work with the Director of Communications and other key QPS staff to develop and integrate master plan that includes project milestones and deliverables.
• Participate in regular weekly meetings with the QPS Director of Communications, QPS COR, and other QPS team members to support the delivery and tracking of communications activities and engagement with key stakeholders.
• Provide support for the Director of Communications to include print and electronic communications products intended to show how VHA, through QPS, is working to ensure quality health care for Veterans.
• Provide basic and complex graphic design support.
• Develop video-based content to provide information about program offices and initiatives and share updates from the AUSHQPS and program offices.
• Assist with the management and maintenance of SharePoint, internet and intranet websites which will be hosted on the VA server (va.gov), using existing VA content management systems.
• Develop and conduct focus groups.
• Write and design the QPS Annual Report highlighting the accomplishments of each division, office, and the organization as a whole.

Required Qualifications:

• 10 years’ experience in graphic design, whiteboard/screen capture video production, newsletter design, logo creation, infographics, fact sheets, and annual reports.
• BA/BS Degree.
• 10 years experience performing: managing broadcast production projects from start to completion, within timeline; performing high-level production work in TV, radio, long-format, and event production; overseeing all aspects of pre- and post-production including, budgeting, booking, crews/studios and talent, scouting locations, scheduling, managing shoots/records, color correction, footage transfer, offline editing, graphics production, music composition/sweetening, on-line editing, and duplication/distribution; responsibilities overseeing the work of support staff and ensuring program scripts meet intentions and requirements expressed by management; highly proficient in editing and familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures; possessing a wide degree of creativity.
