Verland is hiring Exceptional People to provide Compassionate Care as a QIDP Manager to lead the QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional) team within the ICF. This individual will oversee the QIDP team at our Sewickley ICF Campus. The QIDP MANAGER-ICF will report to Director of Residential Services-ICF.

For 43 years, Verland has been a regional leader in providing services to people who have serious intellectual disability, often exacerbated by physical disabilities. Serving more than 230 individuals in four western Pennsylvania counties, Verland provides a wide range of services including residence; nursing care; physical, occupational, aquatic, and equestrian therapies; communication training; dietary services; and socialization/activities programming.

The QIDP Manager is responsible training, leading, managing, and direct oversite of the QIDP team, responsible for developing and coordinating active treatment goals and objectives for those served under his/her auspices.

As a leader in this capacity building a culture of inclusion and making the health and safety of the individuals that we serve will be a very important responsibility.

This is a full-time exempt position.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


1)
Program Development

  • Conducts assessments of assigned persons within 30 days of admission and then on a yearly basis.
  • Conducts IPP meeting within 30 days of admission and then yearly.
  • Completes IPP within 30 days of admission for new program participants that do not have an IPP.
  • Sends out invitation letters for IPP to appropriate individuals.
  • Sends out follow-up letters and copies of the assessment to the appropriate individuals.
  • Completes Bill of Rights and Discharge Plans annually.
  • Helps develop appropriate goals and supplemental procedures for each person on their caseload.
  • Attends Psych. Appointments and gathers the information and takes it back to the house to formulate a Mini IDT.
  • A QIDP has the soul responsibility of collecting behavioral data and analyzing and reporting it to the Psychiatrist.

2) Program Coordination

  • Provide monthly and quarterly documentation.
  • Collaborate with day program/school teams to generate IEP/IPP.
  • Works with day programs/schools team to ensure that the IEP/IPP is followed.
  • Works with families to ensure their awareness of all programming.

3) Physical Site

  • Monitors the houses assigned to their specific caseload.
  • Makes regular visits to all houses assigned to them.
  • Works with the House Manager to ensure that all houses meet the ICF/ID 6600 Regulations.
  • Observes regularly to see if direct support professionals are being compliant with goal plans and activities.

4) Program Monitoring

  • Complete monthly progress notes on each training plan.
  • Complete quarterly reviews of the IPP.
  • Helps conduct yearly self-assessments prior to the IPP.
  • Monitors staff in the implementation of support plans and to maximize delivery of active treatment.

5) Supervision

  • Manages the QIDP at the Sewickley ICF location.
  • Monitors staff participation in individual data collection.
  • Works with the House Manager to provide feedback concerning employee performance.

8.) PER 6600 ICF Regulations

The QIDP Manager shall be responsible for the following:

(1) Coordinating and completing assessments. From these assessments a SNL is to be formulated for each individual. From this document, goal plans are derived. Regulations state goal plans must be provided at all times from the following: Physical Heath and Development, Medication Administration., Cognitive skills, money management, and Adult Daily Living Skills.

(2) The Strengths Needs List must reflect your plan for goal plans for the upcoming year.

(3) Participating in the development of the IPP, IPP annual update and IPP revision.

(4) Attending the IPP meetings.

(5) Fulfilling the role of plan lead, as applicable, throughout the process of the Annual IHP.

(6) Reviewing the IPP, annual updates and revisions under for content accuracy.

(7) Reporting content discrepancy to the SC, as applicable, and plan team members.

(8) Implementing the IPP as written.

(9) Supervising, monitoring and evaluating services provided to the individual.

(10) Reviewing, signing and dating the monthly documentation of an individual’s participation and progress toward outcomes.

(11) Reporting a change related to the individual’s needs to the SC, as applicable, and plan team members.

(12) Reviewing the IPP with the individual as required under regulations

(13) Documenting the review of the IPP as required under regulations

(14) Providing the documentation of the IPP review to the SC, as applicable, and plan team members as required.

(17) Coordinating the services provided to an individual.

(18) Coordinating the training of direct service workers in the content of health and safety needs relevant to each individual.

Requirements:
  • Must have experience as a Supports Coordinator, Program Specialist, or QIDP in the IDD field.
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods of program planning, organization, direction, interpretation, and evaluation, and methods of administration.
  • Must possess working knowledge of community participation practices, an understanding of the challenges facing people with disabilities, and a commitment to help to improve the lives and circumstances of individuals within the IDD community.
  • Must have knowledge/ability to learn Adult Training Facility Regulations (2380) and ICF/MR Regulations.
  • Must have the ability to plan, coordinate, and supervise staff efforts.
  • Effective verbal and written skills necessary to communicate with individuals and staff.
  • Ability to establish an effective working relationship with all those with whom the department comes in contact, i.e., other internal departments, parents/families of the individuals, union officials, and various community contacts.
  • Extensive knowledge of the workings of the nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build a healthy work culture.
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift, when needed and be on call.

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Human Services field or equivalent and two years’ experience working directly with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience as a positive and inclusive team leader/team builder
  • Maturity and professionalism in demeanor, communication, and judgment
  • Experience in digital administrative systems and office software
  • Must complete all required clearances and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Up to 2 weeks paid training provided by Verland, to educate new hires on daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene skills, along with each individual’s support plan/ personal development goals that are essential to improve the daily lives of the individuals that we serve. Completion of training is required at the start of employment.
