QA TECHNICIAN (Location: 4600 Pulaski Highway Baltimore) Job at Deli Brands of America
QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN
Schedule Mon – Fri 8m to 4:30pm with flexibility to rotate to other shifts might be needed.
JOB DUTIES:
Pre-op inspection— Secondary inspection of equipment. Test for proper sanitizing (residual quaternary ammonia test). Provide data for performance-based pay for Sanitation department— perform swab testing. Document results. Process evaluation and verification— Evaluate quality inspections and process documentation performed by others. Verify results with independent testing. Document results. Operational Sanitation—Monitor employees and areas for conformance to sanitation standards and good manufacturing procedures.
End Item Inspection— Inspect and evaluate finished packaged product for appearance characteristics and conformance to specifications.
Product Sampling—Perform routine sampling of products for microbiological and chemical attributes according to schedule.
Returned Product Evaluation—Inspect and count returned product upon receipt. Investigate source of complaint. Maintain returned product database.
Receiving Inspection—Check key attributes of incoming raw materials and packaging.
Planned Improvement Program—Inspect facility and equipment for signs of wear, deterioration, and damage. Document potential sanitation hazards and schedule for repair in cooperation with Maintenance.
Qualification / Calibration of Measuring and Testing Equipment—Test equipment against known standards at assigned frequencies.
Rodent and Pest Control—Review pest control devices at assigned frequencies.
CCP Verification—Verify CCP testing and documentation.
Pre-shipment Review—Not a primary responsibility but will be familiar with the CCP requirements to provide back up for QC Manager.
Document results of inspections using computer database. Produce reports at assigned frequencies.
REQUIRED:
HS diploma or GED equivalent
HACCP Certified plus
6 mos industry exp a plus
Expr in the use of test equipment, measuring devices and computers to record information desired
Strong PC Skills – with word & excel
Good written & verbal communication skills
