Are you an experienced Reporter with an interest in the fields of art and design? If so, Academy of Art University welcomes you to apply for our Publications Staff Reporter position. In this role, you are responsible for creating feature content for Art U News (ArtUNews.com) . It's an exciting position as we have talented alumni, notable faculty, creative students, unique programs, special events, sports and extracurricular activities to write about. This is a part-time position - working up to 20 hours per week for 52 weeks each year.

**In order to be considered for this position, please submit a writing sample along with your resume and cover letter. Writing sample should be a published feature piece between 800 and 1,000 words.**

Responsibilities include:

• Research, contact, interview sources, draft, and fact-check written articles.

• Attend and cover Academy of Art University events for Art U News.

• Assist with additional Publications projects (i.e. Department Brochures) when needed (write copy, interview staff and alumni, proof-reading).

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in Journalism is preferred.
• Must have experience in the journalism field as a writer, reporter, media relations specialist or editor.
• Be able to meet deadlines - have the capability to turn articles around in 24 hours when needed.
• Have working knowledge of AP Style.
• Be Mac and PC proficient and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Interact effectively with students, faculty and special guests to discuss a variety of academic and creative-based topics for feature writing purposes.
• Be flexible with the work schedule - requires some evening availability.
• Be able to cover events in and around San Francisco.
