Duties

As a Public Health Analyst, you will:

• Serve as a public health analyst responsible for evaluating and analyzing complex public health programs and policies.
• Advise management on public health policies, operations, products, and services that contribute to the improvement of public health programs.
• Represent the organization in handling congressional oversight investigations and other high-profile activities.
• Serve as lead representative in developmental of congressional budget requests for annual and supplemental appropriations.
• Identify funding sources, writes applications for grants, contracts, or interagency agreements.
• Negotiate with ASFR and OMB to ensure availability of funds for mission critical activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.

Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include developing, analyzing and identifying the impact of public health policies, issues, and programs in order to recommend improvements to public health programs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
