Title: Project Manager (Revenue) Level: 4167
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS:
Under direction, is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing departmental projects and programs of a complex nature. Professional range of work may include special events, permitting, contract management, programming, project management, administration or related field. Performs related duties as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Supervises the work of a group of professionals by managing day-to-day special event permit processes and operations and/or oversees rental agreements and contractors and their work for the District.
- Provides professional management in areas such as administration, planning, scheduling, negotiation, staff coordination, managing workflows, deconfliction, troubleshooting, problem solving and resolution of customer concerns.
- Formulates and modifies program objectives and procedures.
- Promotes and creates open, clear and concise communications among all stakeholders.
- Acts as liaison and fosters positive relationships among internal staff and departments, city agencies, contractors and customers to ensure the coordination and success of project/program related activities.
- Identifies conflicts and negotiates resolutions.
- Evaluates performance and ensures compliance of firms under contract and tenants.
- Maintains schedules and calendars.
- Prepares financial and narrative reports to summarize the status of related activities.
- Prepares contract and rental opportunity documents.
- manages and participates in selection process and onboarding.
- Creates and updates documents within scope of work.
- Evaluates proposed projects/programs.
- Evaluates the performance of contracted firms.
- Participates in long-range planning and recommends appropriate courses of action.
- Visits events and facilities and may serve as manager on duty.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Recreation, Hospitality or
Communications, plus 5 years of professional experience, 3 of which should be supervisory, or a Masters Degree in Project Management and three years of supervisory experience, an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Professional knowledge of recreation, permitting, special events, contract administration and project management principles. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and scheduling software. Ability to prioritize tasks to effectively accomplish the workload. Ability to lead, direct, coordinate, motivate and supervise professional and para-professional teams. Budgeting/finance review, scheduling and administrative skills. Strong oral and, written communication skills. Excellent judgment.
