Program Manager Job at US National Nuclear Security Administration
Duties
As a Program Manager you will:
- Serves as a supervisor for a combination of engineers, scientists, or program/management analysts. Leads virtual teams, exhibits strong decision-making skills, leads by example (i.e., follows agency policies, conducts oversight, engages with teammates when help is needed).
- Conducts walk-through inspections of the facilities and/or operations for the purpose of identifying hazards, incidents of non-compliance with standards and guidelines, and potential problem areas.
- Ensures contractor management control systems and procedures adheres to NNSA/DOE and national nuclear, radiological and/or industrial safety, environmental compliance, waste management and transportation safety program requirements, policies and practices, and contractual obligations.
- Serves as the primary interface between local NNSA/DOE management and the contractor, and maintains cognizance of all operational activities, both technical and administrative, in providing technical and policy guidance, direction and interpretation.

- Human Reliability Program (HRP) - This position is covered by the Department of Energy's Human Reliability Program (HRP) and is subject to a psychological test and evaluation on an annual basis.

- Personally prepared written reports that captured results of oversight/inspection activities and/or documented issues (e.g., non-compliances) specific to ESH&Q disciplines at nuclear facilities or in support of nuclear operations.
- Personally performed oversight or prepared reports and/or documented issues at nuclear facilities or in support of nuclear operations specific to Environmental Compliance, Safety and Health Programs, Waste Management, Transportation Safety, Technical Training, Explosive Safety or Quality Assurance.
