Purpose
The Program Director has the on-site responsibility for direction and coordination of the various programs at the Center.
This is a Full Time position Monday to Friday with hours needed to work between 7:30am and 5:30pm.
- Responsible for management, operation and content of Adult Day Care & Adult Day Health Program on a day-to-day basis which includes but is not limited to:
- Performs assessments and facilitates admission of clients to the Center.
- Develops individualized plan of care based on the clients’ needs and strengths.
- Ensures that staffing is sufficient in numbers to the number and needs of the clients.
- Schedules, coordinates and facilitates functions and special events.
- Works with Arcadia’s Dining Services to provide meals, snacks, drinks, etc. to the Center.
- Implements Dietitian’s suggestions as a result of quarterly dietary audits.
- Oversees employee orientation and in-service training on an on-going basis.
- Responsible for overseeing the client billing and employee payroll processes for the Center.
- Works with Church maintenance staff and Arcadia’s maintenance staff to maintain the Center’s facilities on a daily basis.
- Coordinates the preventive maintenance program with Arcadia’s Environmental Services Department.
- Coordinates monthly fire drills.
- Coordinates ordering and purchasing of Center supplies for programs and events.
- Works with the Administrator to develop policies and procedures for the Center.
- Participates in the annual survey process.
- Continually markets the program to maintain a high census.
- Develops and implements an ongoing Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program for the Center in collaboration with the existing QAPI programs within the Arcadia Family of Companies.
- Serves as a liaison between the Church and Arcadia Elder Services to foster a strong working relationship between the two entities.
- Works in collaboration with the Administrator to keep finances of the program in good standing, including but not limited to billing, collections and staying within budget.
- Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Playbook.
- Ensures departmental compliance with corporate, state, and federal safety guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned by the Arcadia Family of Companies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises the healthcare and administrative staff in the Arcadia Adult Day Care & Adult Day Health Center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, counseling and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; two to four years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in a health care related field. Managerial and supervisory experience. Experience working with the elderly or disabled and knowledge of health care delivery system is highly desirable.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Current CPR and First Aid certification; current valid Hawaii driver’s license

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing their essential functions, employees are occasionally exposed to the following conditions:
