Advocates for Human Potential, Inc., (“AHP”) is seeking a Senior Program Associate to help manage projects, attend to fiscal concerns, complete project deliverables, carry out meeting, training, and technical assistance activities, and promote new business. You will work as part of the Access to Recovery (ATR) team as a dedicated ATR Coordinator.

We are looking for a dedicated Coordinator for a new project focused on individuals with substance use disorders who are reentering the community after incarceration. ATR is a program for individuals who have a substance use disorder (SUD) and are seeking to change their lives. ATR empowers participants to create a recovery plan unique to their specific needs and connects them to various recovery support services for basic needs, housing, recovery coaching, and career services. ATR partners with select community organizations for service delivery and ensures our participants receive quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the ATR point of contact for the reentry programs connected to assigned projects and foster positive working relationships with ATR participants as you guide and support them on their recovery journey.
  • Complete required intake and assessments, meet in-person and virtually with participants, foster positive relationships with ATR participants, and provide support on their recovery plan goals, facilitate referrals, and coordinate between providers who delivery ATR services to participants.
  • Provide participants with comprehensive, culturally responsive, and individualized care coordination and link participants to ATR and/or community services that are aligned with their recovery plan.
  • Maintain regular communication with participants and manage the delivery of ATR services available to participants.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with program partners, funders, and community organizations, maintaining consistent communication with all partners involved with the participants, which may include treatment providers, recovery coaching, and/or job training programs.
  • Complete all required participant-level assessments (at enrollment, at follow up, and at disenrollment) in accordance with ATR guidelines for all participants enrolled in assigned projects.
  • Responsible for all data entry in ATR’s service management system for participants enrolled in assigned projects.
  • Manage the distribution, collection, and maintenance process of tech equipment used by participants in computer courses.
  • Conduct regular site visits with ATR partners, specifically reentry and career service programs, to support participants through their career service trainings. Identify and troubleshoot problems impacting participants.
  • Along with ATR staff, develop best practice guidelines for work related to assigned projects.
  • Develop written and online materials (e.g., templates, reports, presentation slides, guidebooks, planning documents, listserv announcements, website content, online surveys).
  • Plan meeting agenda and prepares supporting material.

Qualifications

  • We are seeking candidates with at least five years of management and supervising experience, which includes managing complex processes and procedures, managing grants or contracts, and directing and evaluating staff performance.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) and bicultural strongly preferred.
  • Lived experience in the criminal justice system and with substance use disorders preferred.
  • Experience in community-based support programs helping vulnerable and marginalized populations to access local services and navigate systems of care.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to carry out job duties, with a reliable and appropriately insured vehicle required.
  • Ability to travel regularly and meet in person with participants located in ATR’s service areas (currently Boston, Holyoke/Springfield, Lowell, New Bedford, and Worcester). In-state ravel can be expected between 20-50%.
  • High School Diploma/GED, at minimum.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; ability to be flexible, work independently, and identify and implement innovative solutions that help participants achieve/maintain success in their recovery.
  • Excellent communication, outreach, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Must be comfortable using virtual platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Experience with project/program development and management preferred, as this is a new program that is still under development.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is between $69,000 and $86,000 depending on experience, education, and other pertinent factors.

The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.
