About the Position:
This is a 17 month Limited Term position which may become permanent.
Under the general direction of the Director’s Office Executive Manager (a Staff Services Manager I, SSM I), the Executive Analyst (Associate Governmental Program Analyst, AGPA) performs a broad scope of complex analytical, operational, and technical duties within the Director’s Office. The Executive Analyst administers the statewide Director’s Office Tracking System (DOTS) by managing the technical software application, the overall workflow, and all associated materials and trainings. The Executive Analyst executes quality control by analyzing, reviewing, editing, and finalizing all DOTS document packages submitted to the Director’s Office. The Executive Analyst provides operational and analytical support to the Caltrans Executive Board and undertakes special projects on behalf of the Board and Departmental executives. The Executive Analyst implements continuity of operations processes for the Director’s Office by developing and maintaining manuals, guides, templates, and intranet sites. The Executive Analyst coordinates with internal stakeholders to ensure delegated action items such as responses to inquiries are efficiently completed to a standard of high quality; and coordinates with external stakeholders including high-level entities such as the Governor’s Office, State Legislature, California State Transportation Agency, and the Federal Highway Administration on various logistics and correspondences. The Executive Analyst must be able to appropriately triage situations, correctly prioritize competing assignments, and work in a time-sensitive environment with critical deadlines.
