Production Supervisor
Ecovative's Mushroom® Packaging is entering a new stage of growth as we produce sustainable packaging material for the North American market. We are seeking a Production Supervisor to support our manufacturing center for U.S. production of Mushroom®Packaging, servicing clients all throughout North America as well as a global network of partners.
Ecovative's Production Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervise and direct the work of Production Operators, including but not limited to, regular 1 on 1 employee meetings, work direction and task management , goal setting and performance reviews, performance management, talent acquisition, addressing conflicts, and giving and receiving regular feedback
  • Assign duties to operators to meet the production schedule, review production records and documentation to ensure quality products
  • Demonstrates commitment to safety of themselves, others, and the workplace in general; actively points out ways to improve safety on the job.
  • Create and organize production documentation, distribute as needed to appropriate teams
  • Develop SOPs and other documentations as needed
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, monitor equipment/processes, and ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Demonstrate expertise and technical leadership in GMP compliance
  • Facilitate team meetings
  • Identify individual and team-wide development opportunities, communicate development needs, and support training and advancement where development is identified
  • Continuous improvement of Production Operator role, including in role description
  • Analyze staffing capacity and level-set workloads for individual contributors
  • Contribute to hiring strategy, conduct interviews and hire new Production Operator team members
  • Provide training and support to team members, including development of training documentation, hands-on training, and performance assessments
  • Spends time on the floor, overseeing and participating in workflows and processes
  • Actively participate in opportunities to develop as a supervisor, including but not limited to internal collaborations with senior and peer managers, and external literature, webcasts, and other learning opportunities.
  • May be required to manage projects, including planning and executing project deliverables through resource allocation and management, timeline reviews, meeting milestones and deadlines, and scope communications.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Great leader, passionate, motivating, empathetic, inspiring, and engaged in the development of a team in total support of achieving production goals
  • Proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft, Google Suite, Slack, and other business tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree business or management, with preference in biological or process engineering studies with a minimum of three (3) years in a manufacturing leadership role and at least one (1) year supervising production operators. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of six (6) years in a manufacturing process and people leadership role will be considered.
