PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR:

Uptown Bakery, a division of J & J Snack Foods Inc. manufactures and distributes nutritional snack foods to the food service and retail supermarket industries. We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor for overnight shift in out Bridgeport, NJ Facility. Must be flexible to work some weekends. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITILITIES:

The position will supervise the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function. Will also maintain open lines of communication regarding problems, break downs and anything that may effect schedule reliability.

• Leadership -- lead manufacturing lines in an effort to achieve safety, quality and cost goals
• Employee Safety -- ensure job safety analysis is accurate and followed by all employees. Perform accident investigations and corrective action.
• Product Quality -- ensure product specifications are met. Constantly review spc forms, batch sheets, material verification documents and QA product evaluation forms. Perform daily process, environment and document audits.
• Schedule reliability/order fufillment -- ensure that customer orders are filled and wave departure times are met.
• Ingredient Yield -- ensure that raw material usage meets or exceeds budgeted standard. Monitor and report raw material usage, raw material waste, cooked product waste and finished product overages.
• Labor efficiency -- ensure that both company and temporary labor usage meets or exceeds budgeted standards. Monitor employee hours and minimize overtime. Monitor temporary labor usage and reporting accuracy.
• Labor & Production Planning -- Establish weekly labor schedules for company and temporary labor pools.
• Foster teamwork amongst employees and support groups.
• Resolve conflicts amongst employees.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions and breakdowns -- submit workorders for corrective action
• Conduct monthly employee meetings -- communicate safety, quality and cost information.
• Perform new product development test runs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree or minimum 4 years related work experience in a leading role.

· Proven analytical and leadership skills.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results & achieve budget.

· Working knowledge of OSHA Safety Rules & Regulations, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations. SAFETY rules and willing to follow all Safety procedures.

· Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required combined with an aptitude for multi-tasking.

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer application.

· Ability to lift more than 50 pounds

· Sit and stand for long periods of time

· Temperature variations can range from +45 to +100 degrees

· Fast paced, noisy environment
