SUMMARY:
The Product Development Supervisor oversees software development and analysis including software design and development, testing, installation and maintaining of computer-based applications. You will also supervise, train and develop the work of a team of information systems professionals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following are some of the responsibilities for this position. Specific circumstances may allow or require some people assigned to the job to perform a somewhat different combination of duties.
- Directly lead and manage a team of information systems professionals to develop, implement and support computer systems adhering to customer requirements.
- Responsible for administering employee development, training, managing performance evenly across all employees and performance/salary administration.
- Duties of this position include building and maintaining team and department morale.
- Works with business and executive customers on suggesting, providing, developing, and implementing computer solutions to meet business objectives.
- Communicate with end-users, team members, and management on status of all projects on a regular basis.
- Ensure all projects are requested, tracked, monitored, and documented correctly.
- Develop and follow project plans to completion and in a timely manner, consistent with departmental objectives.
- Develops standards and procedures for the efficient operations of all software and systems.
- Demonstrate ability to design, code, troubleshoot, and resolve most complex applications and system errors.
- Lead the research and development efforts to identify, prototype, and design computer systems utilizing new technologies.
- Maintain high levels of system and applications availability to all customers, both internal and external.
- Ensure thorough and successful project implementations by developing and using departmental standards and repeatable processes.
- Use sound testing practices for testing all applications and systems, whereby test cases are reused to improve overall testing quality and improve testing efficiency.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Undergraduate studies in computer science, B.S. preferred.
- Minimum five years related experience in computer programming and analysis or systems and infrastructure management.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to view overall company goals and objectives to formulate application development and systems implementations to achieve these goals.
- Ability to analyze needs and requirements, design, suggest and document solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Must effectively work on more than one project at a time and complete them as planned. Must demonstrate ability to work well under pressure.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
- Requires knowledge of software programming languages and tools as well as hardware and networking solutions used by the company.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to clearly define systems and operational problems and draw valid conclusions and recommendations as to how to resolve. Must possess ability to interpret and delegate an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form. Reasoning; dealing with problems involving a few variables in standard situations. Must also be able interact on personnel matters in a secure and confidential manner.
