General Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for performing cross-functional tasks related to day-to-day operations, including but not limited to: Ordering of materials and supplies, tracking & reporting vendor shipment statuses for assigned orders, working with Suppliers to develop lead times and expected ship dates, and working outstanding orders through Invoice Payment by Accounts Payables.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process and receive Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders,
- Manage assigned Purchase Orders through to fulfillment, including tracking statuses, projected ship dates, and timely invoicing and receiving for payment,
- Interact with vendors for quoting, lead times, and shipping statuses, inclusive of materials, support, and shipping/logistics,
- Ability to review quotes to determine best-price to meet required delivery timelines,
- Track and report any damage or material returns needed upon receipt,
- Coordinate RMA’s or replacements for items still under vendor warranty,
- Work with warehouse and operations personnel to forecast material consumptions and issue backfill orders on a timely basis to avoid exceeding existing stocking levels,
- Coordination and completion of Outbound shipments (modems, customer premise equipment),
- Assist in warehouse material receiving, inventory scanning, and material tracking, utilizing established tools & best practices, as necessary,
- Work with local Operations to ensure compliance with company standards for material disposition and bar coding (as applicable),
- Assist in performing monthly and quarterly Inventory audits,
- Other duties as necessary and assigned by their reporting manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have working knowledge of Purchasing and Inventory systems,
- Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (GP) a plus,
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and can perform under deadlines as business needs change,
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail,
- Strong verbal and written communications skills for vendor and customer interaction,
- Demonstrates a high level of customer service for both internal and external stakeholders,
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision,
- Possesses skills for follow-up interactions with both internal customers and Suppliers, as needed,
- Proficient computer skills operating within Purchasing System software and Microsoft Office products,
- Typing 40+ WPM and mid-level computer aptitude preferred,
- Physical strength and stamina with the ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and lift up to 70 lbs may be required in specific locations,
- Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and other standard warehouse environment tools and/or machinery may also be required in specific locations.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, 2-4 year higher education degree in a related field preferred,
- Valid driver’s license,
- Knowledge or experience with materials used in internet service provider deployments and fiber construction a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
