Process Engineer Job at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions US, Inc
JOB DUTIES
- Analyze product specifications, parts drawings, and other engineering data to develop new production processes
- Estimate time requirements for each step, and prepares operation sheets
- Analyze existing production processes and develop recommendations for changes to working methods or operation sequences that will minimize risks, costs, and waste
- Increase yields and productivity
- Improve the quality and consistency of final products
- Operator training including new processes and machine operation.
- Specifying and Procuring new equipment
- Implementing new processes
- Working closely with other facilities
- Working closely with Product engineering in the development of new processes and products
- Troubleshoot equipment and processes and take corrective action as necessary.
- CNC and PLC programming
- Developing quality requirements
COMPETENCIES
- Clear and concise communication including verbal, email, and professional office software, (e.g. Word, Power Point). (Business Strategy)
- Demonstrate technical and problem solving abilities for manufacturing and process related problems utilizing engineering and scientific principles. (Focusing on Action and Outcomes)
Required Education and/OR Experience
- Four year degree – engineering or equivalent. In lieu of degree, 2+ years’ work experience.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Knowledge of CNC programming and PLC programming.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing including statistical process control, design of experiments, DMAIC process, and standard work.
