JOB DUTIES

• Analyze product specifications, parts drawings, and other engineering data to develop new production processes
• Estimate time requirements for each step, and prepares operation sheets
• Analyze existing production processes and develop recommendations for changes to working methods or operation sequences that will minimize risks, costs, and waste
• Increase yields and productivity
• Improve the quality and consistency of final products
• Operator training including new processes and machine operation.
• Specifying and Procuring new equipment
• Implementing new processes
• Working closely with other facilities
• Working closely with Product engineering in the development of new processes and products
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes and take corrective action as necessary.
• CNC and PLC programming
• Developing quality requirements

COMPETENCIES

• Clear and concise communication including verbal, email, and professional office software, (e.g. Word, Power Point). (Business Strategy)
• Demonstrate technical and problem solving abilities for manufacturing and process related problems utilizing engineering and scientific principles. (Focusing on Action and Outcomes)

Required Education and/OR Experience

• Four year degree – engineering or equivalent. In lieu of degree, 2+ years’ work experience.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

• Knowledge of CNC programming and PLC programming.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing including statistical process control, design of experiments, DMAIC process, and standard work.
