We are seeking a Priority Services Specialist who will be responsible for activities related to the implementation of the administrative services with the Office of Developmental Support. DCM serves as the Direct Service Provider to two sister organizations, Great Lakes Behavioral Research Institute (www.greatlakesbehavioralresearch.com) and Ari Technologies. DCM provides staffing services to Allegheny County DHS in the following areas:

  • Case Management
  • Service Coordination
  • Multi-System Care Management

Who Are You?

You are an organized person who is comfortable managing multiple priorities with a focus on timely and accurate information. You can learn the guidelines and procedures for client assistance and tracking systems, and effectively use these tools throughout your work. You work well with people from different social service agencies, and you strive to provide comprehensive service to clients seeking assistance from your team.

What Will You Be Responsible For?

  • Assisting with critical activities within the unit such as Waiver Capacity Management, Initiative Planning, Authorization of Services and program waiting lists.
  • Supporting Service Coordination Units/Families/Individuals and assisting Individual Support Teams with assessing needs, identifying resources, finding providers and managing data systems.
  • Understanding and utilizing Community of Practice Lifecourse Tools as a means of planning and technical assistance, based on current and new content.
  • Assisting with HCSIS/Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS) Management through regular review of data and reports.
  • Attending regularly scheduled meetings concerning the overall program operations of the Priority Planning Team, and collaborating with other internal teams.
  • Completing system reviews of high-priority individuals to ensure data integrity relating to Service Notes, Incident Management, Risk Analysis, PUNS and other systems.
  • Adhering to all necessary standards and policies when implementing State and Federal Initiatives related to waiver eligibility, certification process, service approval and authorization, and other aspects.
  • Ensuring implementation of Certification requirements as outlined in the Approved Pennsylvania State ID Waivers.

What Background and Skills Does the Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, community agencies, providers, project partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and organize work, prepare records and reports and set priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MH/ID service delivery and systems theory, including provider delivery systems.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Internet research methods.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in social work or related field, plus 1 year of previous experience working with families in the field of intellectual disability.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required to navigate in the community for work-related assignments.

Job Location

This is an onsite, office position based at the Allegheny County ODS Office in the Greentree area of Pittsburgh, PA.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range: $45,000 - $50,000

If hired, candidates would be employed by DCM and assigned to Allegheny County Office of Developmental Services.
