What you’ll be doing...
As a Principal Network Engineer for the Public Sector Federal Aviation Administration Enterprise Network Engineering Services (FENS) engineering team, you will be a network engineer on a multi-discipline team that will deliver and manage the technology roadmap for the FAA infrastructure architecture and Verizon OSS management infrastructure based on Verizon’s solutions and services. As the lead engineer for time synchronization for NTP and PTP. You are well versed across multiple technology disciplines to include but not limited to Enterprise Solutions, WAN engineering, GPS and associated timing related to network, DHS policy on critical infrastructure timing. You will work in a cross-functional and cross-organizational environment (including Third party partners) to facilitate and deliver the FENS initial and on-going infrastructure solutions for the FAA complex requirements throughout the life-cycle of the FENS program.
You will be focused on the survivability and resiliency integrated architectures for the FAA FENS opportunity. The goal will be to deliver the best technical solutions along with the best customer service. You will need to:
Understanding customer business challenges.
Developing network solutions and designing the networking to solve the customer need.
Provide briefings at various levels.
Conduct and build business and cost models based on technical architecture.
Assess, prioritize, and manage scope of work across various initiatives.
Lead and guide internal and external teams with creating and delivering complex, integrated timing solutions to meet our customer requirements

You'll need to have:
Designing or architecting survivable and resilient mission critical infrastructure leveraging timing architecture.
Experience in building technology roadmaps and transitioning in new technologies
Bachelor’s degree with 15 or more years of work experience, or 15 years of related work experience.
15 or more years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of network timing technical product (Microsemi) and systems development lifecycle within a large global enterprise environment.
Over ten years’ experience in deploying and implementing telecommunications solutions in the field.
Ability to obtain a Government security clearance of Public Trust.
Experience in communicating (written and spoken) highly technical, multi-faceted (e.g., network, security, data, application) solutions to customers in a simple, understandable manner.
Ability to document designs in formal engineering specification i.e., rack elevations.
Highly organized with an ability to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated interpersonal communication, organization and project management skills.
Experience in two or more technical areas listed:
Data and IP Services (MPLS, SIP, internet, VPN, SDN, NFV, SDWAN).
PTP and NTP architectures
Access Technologies (TDM, Ethernet).
Network Operations (Managed Services for WLAN, LAN, WAN, IP PBX, Automation/Orchestration).
Security (DDOS, FW, IDS, WAF, DDI, SIEM, Analytics, Micro-segmentation).
Wireless technologies (IoT).
Wide area networking, routing protocols, and VPN design.
Even Better if you have:
Master’s Degree in a technical or business area.
Five or more years of successful experience with strategic solutions and/or systems integration design and solutions selling experience (consultative solutions selling).
Communication, organization, and negotiation skills with the ability to successfully work multiple projects simultaneously.
Public Sector Domain Experience to include both Federal and Department of Defense contract and procurement experience.
Experience in the Aviation industry.
