The Press Department Utility Worker contributes to the success of Eagle Flexible Packaging by assisting the Press Department, including Pre-Press, with a variety of support duties. Second shift hours are Monday-Friday 4:00 pm – 4:00 am, which includes overtime opportunities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparation of ink drawdowns (both internal and for customer approvals).
• Assist in inventory management of new and “work-off” inks.
• Properly dispose of used inks, adhesives, etc.
• Maintain records of ink and other material formulations.
• Operate ink dispenser.
• Mount, remount, and unmount printing plates.
• Organize workstations and production areas.
• Assist the Press department with clean up, wash sink duties, and garbage removal.
• Assist with shafting plates in the Pre-Press department.
• Assist with light maintenance activities as needed.
• Participate in facility deep cleans and regular weekend cleaning.
• Provide backup support to B and C Press Operators as needed.
• Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to safely work in a fast-paced production environment while managing multiple responsibilities.
• Sense of accountability, including record of good attendance.
• Effective time management skills and ability to maximize productivity.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, and climb a ladder and stairs.
• Must be able to lift objects up to 75 pounds.
• Willingness and ability to work an overnight shift (if applicable for 2nd/3rd shift positions).
• Willingness and ability to work weekends.
• Excellent work ethic and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in the flexible packaging industry.
