The Arc Greater Hudson Valley, NY is a not-for-profit agency created in January 2021 dedicated to providing supports to over 2,000 people with disabilities and their families in Sullivan, Orange, and Dutchess Counties. Formerly known as The Arc Sullivan-Orange Counties and The Arc of Dutchess, The Arc Greater Hudson Valley provides innovative, high-quality services including Residential Services, Clinical Services, Day Services, Family Support Services, Guardianship Services, Children's Education Services, Employment Services, Recreation, Respite and more.

Our dedicated team is still interviewing, hiring and conducting orientation, despite COVID-19. We are following all safety guidelines, providing Personal Protective Equipment to all staff, and sanitizing all locations thoroughly. We are currently conducting phone and/or virtual interviews.

Schedule: Monday-Friday

The Special Education Teacher provides students with specialized, individualized instruction based on their IEP and unique needs, as well as:

• Conduct preschool/school age assessments
• Serve as a member of the IEP team and provides input to the IEP goals

• Monitor student progress and the overall effectiveness of the teaching modes
• Prepare all necessary reports and maintain educational records required and necessary to provide a quality educational program
• Communicate effectively with parents, team members, staff and agency representatives

Minimum Qualifications for Special Education Teacher:

• NYS Teacher Certification in Special Education required
• NYS Early Childhood and Students with Disabilities B-2 or B-6 Certification required
• Master's degree from an accredited college/university required
• One (1) year teaching experience preferred
