Seasons of Wonder is a small fully outdoor Reggio inspired preschool located in Napa. Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30. Indoor spaces include an Atelier (Art Studio) and a MakerSpace/STEM lab. We have a full outdoor classroom and a garden. Teachers work together to create a stimulating environment for up to 30 children 2-6 years old each day. We are a mentor student teaching site through Napa Valley College and regularly have college students placed with us. Seasons of Wonder is deeply rooted in Nature based learning providing children the opportunity to truly explore the world around them. We are striving to become a rainbow school and use diverse materials, books and language daily to promote inclusion and understanding.

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum 12 ECE Units and working towards degree (Associates degree or nearing completion prefered)
• Minimum 6 months experience working with children 2-6 years old preferred
• Covid vaccination and booster required

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently and on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work collaboratively.
Strong oral communication skills
Understanding of child development
High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, college students and families)
CPR/First aid certified (within 30 days of hire)
Ability to pass full background check and health screening
Be reflective, ask questions, and be willing to take risks and make mistakes

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to work in the summer heat and winter cold/rain.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and simultaneously supervise a variety of tasks.
Ability to stand, stoop, reach and bend for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift 35 lbs and remain active throughout entire shift

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the maintenance, care, and upkeep of the indoor and outdoor classrooms and gardens.

Facilitate student-centered learning and curiosity about the natural world using emergent curriculum.

Attend school-wide functions as needed (ie: Open House, Volunteer days, Family Events, etc.)

Maintain effective communication with Season’s of Wonder teachers and families

Assist teachers in daily routines such as snack, toileting and nap

Meet the needs of all children including English Language Learners, those from diverse backgrounds and children with disabilities

Engage fully with children promoting respect and mindfulness

Supervise the whole group while giving individual attention

Engage children in exploration and ongoing project work

Scaffold children through conflict and problem solving proving positive choices.

Build respectful and reciprocal relationships with families

Continuously show professionalism including integrity, ethical conduct and decision making.

$17(units only) to $23 (BA degree)/hr, Starting in January 2023
Full time or Part time available, 8am-4pm 25-37.5 hours/week. School year schedule (August-June) with opportunity to work July summer camps
