Plumber Supervisor
Department: Community Reintegration Center
Full-time, Hourly
Hourly Pay Rate: $50.01/hr

Job Summary
To oversee and supervise plumbing staff. Responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste. Preserve and enhance department assets to ensure quality service and product delivery.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform Plumbing-Related Activities - Perform inspections of department assets for building code compliance and maintenance needs. Perform routine and emergency repairs of buildings and structures including, but not limited to water supply networks, waste and drainage systems, fixtures, equipment and controls.
  • Project Planning and Review - Prepare estimates and material lists; interpret blueprints, sketches and specifications. Create scopes-of-work; monitor and advise on contractor work.
  • Administration - Process purchase requests, inventory supplies, maintain logs and process work orders. Review blueprints, building codes and technical manuals. Assist with project management and ensure relevant safety codes and regulations are implemented.
  • Personnel Management - Participate in and recommend hiring of plumbing staff. Provide daily supervision including job assignments, performance appraisals, workforce development, and establishing priorities to ensure the success of the plumbing section and the department's strategies.
  • Budget Management - Prepare and monitor annual plumbing budget to ensure responsible fiscal management.
  • Equipment Maintenance - Inspect and maintain all equipment and tools related to the performance of job duties.
  • Special Assignments and Projects - Participate on special project teams. Enhance community outreach, marketing and communication efforts.
  • Ability to properly or safely operate: vehicles, forklift, scissors lift, hand/power tools, computers and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift up 50 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, License/Certification and Experience
  • Current residency within the State of Wisconsin required
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required and must be maintained throughout employment
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required
  • Licensed Master Plumber in the State of Wisconsin required
  • Licensed Cross Connection Control Tester in the State of Wisconsin required
  • Five (5) years or more of work experience as a Journeyman Plumber required
  • Five (5) years or more of work experience in a Supervisory or Management role required
  • Advanced knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required
  • Previous radio communications experience required
  • Previous experience with blueprint design review preferred
  • Confined space training and certification preferred
Note: This Original Examination is open to current residents of the State of Wisconsin. In accordance with Rule III section 11 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of a review of candidate materials, education and related experience.
