Shift: 3rd shift – 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Collis. LLC, in Clinton, Iowa, is a division of SSW Advanced Technologies, LLC, a global leader in design and production solutions for wire, steel and glass component needs.

The PLC Electrician will install, replace, repair, program PLC’s, implement automation, and maintain all electrical equipment.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/warehouse environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

• Demonstrate the ability to apply electrical and electronic principles in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Plant electrical/electronic equipment to component level including operator interfaces, process controllers, wiring, power supplies, etc.
• Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and operate and program robotic systems, and controllers
• Demonstrate an understanding and ability in the safe use of equipment and tools
• Demonstrate an understanding and ability in proper use including Hazardous/Classified locations, National Electric Code, Fire Protection System and Equipment Lockout/Tag out
• Demonstrate an understanding and ability in proper use of basic diagnostic equipment including volt/ohm meters, meggers, and voltage/current simulators
• Demonstrate ability to properly bend and install conduit/raceway runs complete with fittings
• Demonstrate ability to install, troubleshoot and maintain motor control switchgear, drives, control equipment, overload/over current protection and wiring for plant motors including 3 phase
• Demonstrate the ability to write, implement and troubleshoot programs for controlling a process or piece of equipment using PLC ladder logic
• Demonstrate an understanding and ability for parts ordering and acquisition, purchasing parts, daily time/ work order entry, and electronic mail/lockout information
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively and professionally communicate to/with other team members and train as needed
• Demonstrate the ability to read, update and create Plant electrical blueprints, schematics and other related documentation
• Complete in plant training and demonstrate the ability to operate Forklifts and self-elevated work platforms
• Must successfully complete OJT training and demonstrate the ability to operate and use maintenance portable computer for troubleshooting
• Recognizes potential workplace fall hazards, understands requirements, and utilizes appropriate fall protection
• Demonstrate the ability to operate hoist systems
• Demonstrate awareness of the location of gas and electrical shut offs supplying the plant
• Assist engineering with the automation of plant equipment
• All other duties as assigned
