TrueMed is seeking a motivated, team oriented, full time Long Term care Pharmacy Technician to join their winning team in Hiawatha, IA. The hours are Monday through Friday with rotating half days on Saturdays. The Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician performs day-to-day duties under the supervisor of the Long Term Care Pharmacist in accordance with established principles, policies, and procedures and/or law. Hartig Drug Company will assign each workforce member a level of access based on the individual’s need for electronic patient’s protected health information (ePHI) to perform their job function.
Essential Job Functions
- Works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist; assisting with dispensing medication according to the prescription
- Stage and generate manifest for cycle exchange, assist in bagging and boxing drugs according to the facility procedures
- Assists in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure.
- Fills daily drug orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist in pre-packing frequently ordered medications, label, and store, as needed during low volume
This position should have excellent customer service skills, verbal and written skills should be detailed oriented and conformable working with pharmacy and retail software. Applications must be willing to become certified within 1 year of hire per state law. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule..
